The University of Evansville
offers three degrees in Health Services Administration (HSA) to
meet the rising challenges
of the health care industry: a bachelor’s degree (BS), a
five year combined bachelor’s/master’s degree (BS/MS),
and a two-year evening master's degree (MS) for working adults
in the community. Incoming traditional students have the choice
to obtain a four-year traditional degree or extend one additional
year and achieve both the bachelor's and master's degrees.
Health Care Administrators are employed by a
wide variety of organizations including hospitals, managed care
companies,
outpatient care facilities,
pharmaceutical companies, mental health organizations, public health
agencies and any organization that has a stake in health care today.
The need for
Health
services
administrators
is projected to increase faster than the average of all occupations
through the next 5-10 years.
The many changes in health care resulting
from changes in government administration, new advancements in
technology, and ever changing
populations have created a need for managers who can deal with
a multitude of challenges specific to the health care industry.
Health
care administrators need to understand business concepts as well
as health related aspects of the delivery.
